F07 means the door was open during self-clean, whether opened too early or because the latch or sensor failed.
Model compatibility: Viking reuses codes across series and model years, so F07 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
The door is open during CLEAN because the latch or door sensor failed or the door was opened right after CLEAN was selected; critical (priority A).
What F07 is about
The EOC4 control shows F07 when it detects an open door in the middle of a CLEAN cycle. Viking’s sheet lists the possible reasons:
The door was opened immediately after CLEAN was selected, before the latch engaged. The owner can avoid this.
The latch itself failed, which is for a technician.
The door sensor failed, which is also for a technician.
Signals
On a range, the Clean light stays lit while the Cycle light blinks seven times. A wall oven with the TOD2 or TOD3 clock prints F07. Because it is rated priority A, the cycle halts and the elements switch off.
Steps
Cancel the cycle.
Push the door fully shut, and once CLEAN is pressed, do not touch it.
When F07 repeats even though the door stayed shut, the sheet calls for powering down and fixing the lock problem, and that is a repair.
Do not defeat the lock or press on the door to keep it closed.
Related
F01: the door lock is out of position for the cycle.
Should F07 return although the door stayed shut, call (310) 692-1112 to schedule Viking oven repair in Los Angeles and mention that it only shows up on CLEAN. The oven repair page has more information.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
