F03 means the control lost a valid signal from the cooling fan, and baking or cleaning is cancelled.
Model compatibility: Viking reuses codes across series and model years, so F03 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
The EOC4 control is not receiving a square wave in the allowable frequency range from the cooling fan Hall-effect sensor, and bake or clean is cancelled.
What the control is checking
The oven’s cooling fan has a Hall-effect sensor, and it sends the EOC4 control a square wave. If that signal does not arrive within the allowable frequency range, the control shows F03.
What happens
Bake or clean stops right away.
Viking classes it priority A (critical): the cycle ends and all elements switch off.
What you will see
Wall ovens with a TOD2 or TOD3 clock: F03 on the display.
Ranges: Clean light on, Cycle light flashing three times.
Clearing it
The sheet’s steps are to turn the cycle off, power the oven down, and correct the cooling fan problem. Wording matters here: the sheet reports a signal out of range, not a confirmed dead fan. Repeated restarts to see if the fan recovers are not a good idea.
More critical faults
F02: the RTD temperature sensor is open or shorted.
A fan fault on a Viking range or oven can be booked at (310) 692-1112 for Los Angeles service. If you own a range, say that the Cycle light blinks three times. More is on the oven repair page.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
