Silence the alarm, then see whether the cabinet cools back down.
Model compatibility: Viking reuses codes across series and model years, so HIGH TEMPERATURE ALARM may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
The high temperature alarm sounds, and the display or HIGH TEMP light signals, when the cabinet is warmer than permitted.
A tone plus a flashing display, or a glowing HIGH TEMP light on some panels, is the way a Viking built-in or integrated refrigerator reports that it has warmed beyond its limit. The two manuals we use describe it with different wording, so both appear below.

7 Series Integrated: VBI7360, FBI7360, MVBI7360
Sound, plus flashing display when the high temperature allowed is exceeded
Alarm button; flashing carries on until normal maximum temperature returns
Built-In, VCBB5363E manual
HIGH TEMP light after two hours too warm in the refrigerator or freezer, with a blinking light for the section
ALARM OFF; the sound stops once the setting is back to a proper temperature
Suggested sequence
Press the alarm button, or ALARM OFF, to mute the sound.
See which section is indicated.
Make sure every door and drawer is fully closed; one left ajar lets the cabinet warm.
Wait and see if the flashing ends on its own.
Neither manual names a cause or a fix for this alarm, so nothing of that kind is claimed here. Muting only stops the noise. Think about the food: how long the cabinet stayed warm decides what is safe to keep.
If it does not settle
A display that keeps flashing after a long period of normal running, or an alarm that returns again and again, means the cabinet is not coming back to temperature. The manuals give no recovery time limit.
Alarms that overlap
OPEN DOOR ALARM can be the start of the problem, since an open door warms the inside.
When the alarm will not clear on a Viking refrigerator in Los Angeles, (310) 692-1112 is our number. Say which compartment is flagged and which of the two panel styles above matches yours. The refrigerator repair page has more.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
